Paramedics were called to the BlueScope facility at 10.20am and called an air ambulance to the scene.

A Country Fire Authority spokesperson confirmed an industrial accident had occurred but did not have further details.

BlueScope operates a painted, coated and uncoated steel processing facility at Hastings on Western Port Bay.

Hastings is a town on the Mornington Peninsula about, 58km south-east of Melbourne’s CBD.

WorkSafe is investigating.
