Vanderpump Rules alum Kristen Doute and her boyfriend Luke Broderick are opening up about her recent miscarriage.
On the most recent episode of their podcast Sex, Love, and What Else Matters entitled “We Had a Miscarriage,” which was released on Sunday (Nov. 26), Doute and Broderick discussed when they discovered she was pregnant on Oct. 24, which she remembered was “the day of Ariana [Madix]‘s Dancing with the Stars ‘Most Memorable Year’” performance, per The Daily Mail.
Broderick explained that Doute was “uncharacteristically late” on her period, and eventually took two digital pregnancy tests that came back positive.
“It was the best fucking day of my life,” she shared, noting that she was “in complete and utter shock.”
Noting that they “were so lucky how fast [they] got pregnant at [her] age,” Doute (40) and Broderick (32) revealed that after a third ultrasound at six weeks, they learned that her pregnancy “was not viable,” and was “considered a blighted ovum,” which meant that “there is no embryo in the sac that’s forming.”
Doute told listeners that she “only feel[s] comfortable talking about this because [she] know[s] so many friends of [hers] have gone through this.”

“Either up until the point of or have been through this,” she added. “I know so many women have been through this and it’s really fucking terrifying, because you always think, ‘What’s wrong, what did I do wrong? Could I have done something different?’”
She noted that “the only silver lining” after “digesting this for the last four or five days” is that once she and Broderick are past this loss, they “can try again.”
“I think this was just a really unfortunate thing that happened to us, and it’s just God’s plan,” she tearfully shared. “And I know that we can try fairly soon, and that I think we’re very hopeful to have a very healthy pregnancy next time around.”
According to Page Six, the couple went public with their relationship last December.
Broderick expressed his love and support for Doute throughout this loss, saying that he’s “gotta be [her] rock.”
“And I want to,” he added on Sunday’s podcast episode. ” I want to be there with you, for you. And help get over these sad times, and get back to more happy times, because I know it won’t be that far off. It’s coming, we will accomplish it, and we’ll be an awesome, happy family someday.”
