American actor Tom Sizemore has died aged 61.

Sizemore, who appeared in a number of hit films during the ’90s and 2000s, but is perhaps best known for playing Sergeant Mike Horvath in Saving Private Ryan, died at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Los Angeles on March 4 (March 3 Los Angeles time).

His passing comes two weeks after being hospitalised following a brain aneurysm.

Sizemore’s manager Charles Lago confirmed the news on Saturday afternoon, Australian time, and shared a statement with TMZ saying his brother and twin sons were by his side at the time of his death.
