Tyreek Hill handcuffed over driving violation on way to Dolphins’ opener

Star Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by police Sunday morning entering the team’s stadium for its NFL Week 1 opener against the Jaguars due to a driving violation, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told multiple reporters.

Video footage appears to show Hill laying flat on his stomach outside his car getting handcuffed by police.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reports Hill was cited for reckless driving and got into a verbal altercation with police after being pulled over. He was released after being cited.

Hill, 30, is planning to play in Sunday’s game.

“I just left Tyreek and he is getting ready to play today,” Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Dolphins host the Jaguars at 1 p.m.

“This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released,” the Dolphins said in a statement. “Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”
