Two young women have been rushed to hospital after they were hit by a runaway car in Victoria’s north-east last night.
Police believe an unoccupied car rolled down a hill hitting the spectators at the Alexandra Speedway about 10.15pm.

A 16-year-old from Lilydale and 20-year-old from Marysville were airlifted to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle came to a stop after hitting a Winnebago.

The car owner, an 18-year-old man, was interviewed by police after the incident.

He was released pending further enquiries.

Alexandra is located about 130 kilometres north-east of Melbourne.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
