A man and a woman have been hospitalised with facial injuries after they were shot in separate attacks south of Brisbane yesterday.

Police are investigating if the two attacks, which occurred just hours apart and in both in Queensland’s Logan district, are related as they search for the gunman or gunmen.

A 58-year-old woman was shot in the front yard of a home on Bix Court in Crestmead about 3.30pm on Saturday after a man arrived at the property in a dark-coloured car.

The man began arguing with a male resident before he raised a gun and fired a shot at the resident, missing and striking the woman standing nearby, according to police.

The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A man was then injured in a drive-by shooting on Cowper Avenue in Eagleby about 9pm.

A shot was fired as a light-coloured car passed the home, hitting a man who was in the front yard.

He was taken to hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a dark-coloured Mazda CX9, or a white or silver Mitsubishi Lancer in either of the suburbs, or who may have relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.
