Two men have died in a car crash on Monday night in the south west of Sydney

Two young men are dead and a third is fighting for life after a car and truck collided in Sydney.

Police were called to King Georges Road, Wiley Park, following reports of a crash about 8.45pm on Monday. 

Two passengers in a BMW sedan, aged 22 and 23, died at the scene.

The sedan’s driver, a 20-year-old man, suffered significant injuries in the crash. 

Paramedics rushed him to hospital in a critical condition. 

The truck driver, 24-year-old man, was also taken to hospital for mandatory testing. 

A crime scene was established and investigations commenced by the Crash Investigation Unit into the circumstances of the crash.

King Georges Road was closed in both directions overnight following the crash.

All six lanes of northbound and southbound traffic were redirected. 

About 4am on Tuesday, workers reopened two the three southbound lanes though northbound lanes remained closed as emergency workers remained on scene. 

All lanes of the motorway were reopened by 6am.  

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
