Police believed a 76-year-old man, who had landed at Perth Airport on a flight from Melbourne on Tuesday, was carrying drugs on him after receiving intelligence about an alleged drug smuggler.
Officers searched the man and then watched him collect a bag and leave the airport.
Western Australia police allege the bag he collected contained more than two kilos of methylamphetamine.
Officers then followed the man, as he got into a car with another man, aged 55, and drove to a home in Dayton.
They conducted a traffic stop and allegedly located methylamphetamine.
A search of the home uncovered $50,000 in cash, which they allege is money made from drug offences.
The 76-year-old man and a 55-year-old were arrested and charged.
The 76-year-old has been charged with possessing a trafficable amount of methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply.
He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on November 7.
The 55-year-old man was charged with possessing a trafficable amount of methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply, receive or deal with proceeds of a crime and supplying a prohibited drug.
He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on December 5.
