Two men have been arrested after a horror crash that killed two young boys in Sydney’s south-west.
Two boys, aged 13 and 14, were in the backseat of a car that slammed into a tree and power pole in Ashcroft on Monday morning.
The car was split in half on impact.
Police believe the two boys were ejected from the car and died at the scene.
The driver and passenger, Nicholas Thew and Anthony Morris, allegedly left the scene after the crash.
Police said two men, aged 23 and 27, were arrested at Wetherill Park Police Station about 12.30pm today.
Both were taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard for assessment for injuries allegedly sustained during the crash.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash.

The owner of the home that was struck by the car recounted the horror of seeing the wreckage in her yard.
“I came outside and oh my God, I saw two boys inside my yard. It’s so bad,” the owner said.
The horror crash has left many in the south-west Sydney community in shock and disbelief.
“I cannot imagine this happening to my children. I think that’s the most terrible thing that can happen to your children as a mother,” one local said.
“It’s never easy when you find out something like this for any child to lose their life so young,” another local said.
“It’s so tragic, I feel so sorry for their family and friends.”
Community members visited the crash site this morning to lay flowers and pay their respects to the two boys.
Crews have also attended the scene today to replace the power pole that was during the incident.
