Two families are grieving after two women and a baby boy were killed in a horror crash in Western Australia’s remote Mid West at the weekend.
Three men remain in Royal Perth Hospital after their Toyota Hilux rolled on Saturday night. One of the trio is in a critical condition in ICU.
It is understood the group of six had been travelling for a funeral.
The crash happened almost 500 kilometres from Perth on Geraldton-Mount Magnet Road near Yalgoo.
Truck drivers were first on the scene but sadly Gabrielle Brockman, 21, died along with her nine-week-old nephew.
The child’s mother, Marrika Brockman, 33, later died in hospital.
Her partner and the baby’s father, Dwayne Ashwin, is in a stable condition at Royal Perth Hospital.
Their family is travelling to be by his side.
The triple fatality takes the state’s road toll to 113, the highest in a decade.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
