The suspect is reportedly a resident of the Bellevue Men’s Shelter, according to the New York Post.

A witness, Baha Biten, who was at the consulate building at the time, said he ‘saw this homeless guy walking with a purse.’

‘And then I saw this guy in the car telling him “Stop, drop the bag! Stop!”.

‘Of course he didn’t listen and then all of a sudden I saw the guys in suit and earphones rushing and trying to look for a suspect,’ he added.
