A man and a woman have been charged over the death of a five-week-old baby boy in Queensland last year.

Paramedics were called to a caravan park in Daisy Hill, Logan, at 6.45pm on June 14, 2021 where they found an unresponsive baby.

The boy was taken to Logan Hospital where he was declared dead, less than two hours after the initial callout.

Police arrested a 44-year-old man in Yatala and a 36-year-old woman in Zillmere, at about 7am yesterday.

The suspects are known to the child.

They have both been charged with murder and will appear in court today.

Police are appealing for anybody with more information to come forward and contact police on 131 444.
