Two people have been charged over an alleged shooting in southern New South Wales.

A 26-year-old man was found with injuries to his hand and shoulder in Maryville Way, Thurgoona, in Albury, at 3.20pm on Thursday.

He was taken to Albury Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A 35-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were arrested in Macksville on Friday after investigations by NSW Police.

Macksville, on the NSW North Coast, is nearly ten hours’ drive from Thurgoona.

The man, from Queensland, was charged with ten offences, including shooting at with intent to murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possessing an unregistered and unauthorised pistol in a public place, possessing an unauthorised pistol, using an unregistered firearm pistol, not keeping firearm safely, acquiring an unregistered firearm, possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, possessing a loaded firearm endangering life in a non-public place.

The woman, also from Queensland, has been charged with two counts of robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

Both have been denied bail and will appear in Port Macquarie Local Court today.
