A resident reportedly heard the boys, believed to be aged 12 and 13, calling for help about 2pm at Lincoln Crescent at Pooraka.
It’s believed the boys crawled into the stormwater drain and spent several hours stuck in the tunnel system.
Emergency services rescued the pair 1.5km from where they entered the network.
The pair was lucky to escape without injury.
The incident has sparked questions from residents on the street as to why the boys allegedly crawled into the stormwater drain in the first place.

”It’s really crazy, why did they do that? It’s very hot today,” one resident told 9News.
“Kids are kids, are they running from something or is it just a game for them?” another resident said.
“If they were young boys, no doubt that concrete lid’s very heavy.”
Authorities are warning South Australians against entering the stormwater system.
