A man and a woman have been shot dead in a house on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, with another man on the run.
Police arrived the house on Parson St, Rye shortly after 4am on Monday – they were told an altercation happened between a group of people at the property.
They found a man and a woman inside who had both been shot.
They tried to resuscitate them with the help of paramedics. Sadly, they died at the scene.
Police are now hunting a second man who they believe fled the scene.
They believe the group were known to each other.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating. Officers have cordoned off the street, with several police vehicles in the area.
Rye is a wealthy seaside suburb south of Melbourne, known for its beaches.
