A man and woman have been found dead inside a unit at a holiday apartment complex on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to the Magic Mountain Apartments on Great Hall Drive at Miami at about 4.10pm on Thursday.

The grim discovery of two bodies believed to be that of an elderly couple were found inside a unit.

Police are investigating whether the tragedy is a possible murder-suicide. 

‘Investigations are underway, and a crime scene has been declared,’ a Queensland Police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the public.

‘No further information is available at this time.’

The gated apartment complex was built on the site of popular 1980s tourist attraction Magic Mountain.
