A snake catcher has made a hilarious discovery after being called to a home on the New South Wales coast.
The resident thought they had happened upon a snake partly burrowed beneath a cover in their garden.
But when snake catcher Jen arrived she discovered an entirely different “creature”.
“This guy was partly seen hiding in the garden,” Illawarra Snake Catcher wrote on Facebook.
“Turned out to be a critically endangered heater hose snake.

“These guys are more commonly found in engine bays of cars and trucks.”

Although the homeowner was in luck this time, anyone who does come across a snake should keep a distance and call a snake catcher to get them to relocate it.
