I took that screen shot at 3 pm ET, demonstrating that the Dallas Morning News had no interest in a Texas Democrat congresswoman insulting a Texas Republican governor over his paraplegia. It took them nearly a full day to cover a domestic-terror attack on a Tesla dealer in the state capital yesterday, too. They should change their slogan to “Yesterday’s news tomorrow.”

Ed: It won’t matter. Crockett knows her audience all too well. So do the other Democrats in Congress. It’s still probably worth the exercise but it’s an empty gesture these days.

Ed: In the absence of argument to the contrary … yeah. But again, don’t expect Dems to toss Crockett under the bus, not after watching the Left come unglued at Chuck Schumer for choosing not to walk into a trap he laid for himself on the CR.

Instead, for today, let’s focus on the need to get unofficial information between governments. If you want a number of examples, look at the information flow between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. There was quite a bit of unofficial flow, which ranged from carefully staged leaks (or, possibly, operations on par with The Man Who Wasn’t There in WWII) to using businessmen and journalists as conduits. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, a LOT of essential discussion was channeled through a journalist both sides trusted.
It is important to note that not all of these conduits were aware they were being used to send messages. Sometimes it was a one-time thing, sometimes it was done as a part of normal business operations so as to keep the person in the dark. And, sometimes, it is rumored, it was done to some poor sap that had PO’d one side or another and got used and was figuratively (and literally) disposed of afterwards.
Sometimes, using someone is made very easy by the person being used. They can be greedy, needy, of limited trustworthiness, or other flaws that make it easy to use them. You know them and their flaws, their triggers, etc. Some of the people used before have been, er, interesting, to be polite. They also have spanned the strata of society.
Which is why I find it believable that Jeffrey Goldberg may have been a “deliberate accident.”
Ed: It’s a reasonable scenario. I tend to use both Occam’s Razor and Hanlon’s Razor in these circumstances, which in this case boils down to the simplest explanation is that someone f’d up. I’d buy this scenario more if the information got leaked to Goldberg rather than having him added to the Signal chat, but it’s still a potential explanation. Read all of it from Laughing Wolf.

The issue with Biden’s handling of classified materials wasn’t necessarily the possession of those materials, though that is a criminal offense. It’s that he lied about it to Special Counsel Hur. These written answers – first published in this article – are important in that they are made with thought and care, as compared to Biden’s rambling interview with Special Counsel Hur, where he was a bit slow and forgetful.
And these answers are provable deceit, though it would have been a near-impossible task to convince a DC jury to convict one of their own.
Ed: Great work from Techno Fog, but this is a lesser scandal than the cover-up of Biden’s incapacity in office. Biden has been a serial plagiarist and congenital fabulist for his entire adult life.

The Trump administration is moving to freeze tens of millions of dollars in federal family-planning grants to certain organizations while it investigates whether the money was used for diversity efforts, people familiar with the matter said.
The groups that would be subject to the freeze, which include Planned Parenthood affiliates, were set to get about $120 million this year.

Ed: I love all these policies. I’m not sure they can be accomplished by EO, especially the voter-ID and paper-ballot requirements in federal elections. That will likely have to be accomplished by legislation in Congress.
