Thank you for joining us for coverage of what is set to be an extraordinary day as later, in a Manhattan courthouse, former US President Donald Trump will surrender to face criminal charges stemming from 2016 hush money payments.
Trump will be fingerprinted after a brief booking and arraignment. He will learn the charges against him and then plead, we expect, not guilty.
Trump, remember, has been impeached twice by the US House but never convicted in the Senate. However, he will become the first former US President to face criminal charges.

Trump is then scheduled to return to his Mar-a-Lago resort home in Palm Beach, Florida, to hold a rally.
A conviction would not prevent Trump from running for or winning the presidency in 2024.
