Donald Trump has called for President Joe Biden to take a drug test before their debates

Donald Trump has demanded Joe Biden take a drug test before the pair face off against one another in next month’s debate.

Speaking at the GOP´s annual Lincoln Reagan dinner event on Friday night in St. Paul, Minnesota, Trump suggested the resident had been on drugs when he delivered the State of the Union address in March.

Trump told his supporters he would insist Biden takes a drug test as a precondition for the debates.

‘I just wanna debate this guy, but you know – and I’m gonna demand a drug test too, by the way,’ Trump said to cheers.

‘I am. No, I really am. I don’t want him coming in like the State of the Union. He was high as a kite.’

Trump said during the State of the Union, the president’s demeanor caught him by surprise.

‘I said, ‘Is that Joe up there?”

Trump said that that Biden ‘was exhausted’ by the end of the one-hour-and-seven-minute-long address.

‘We’re gonna demand a drug test,’ Trump said again. ‘He’s going to be so jacked up for those, you watch.’

At the time, Fox News’ Sean Hannity declared nicknamed Biden ‘Jacked-Up Joe,’ saying how, ‘He sounded like a hyper-caffeinated, angry, old man.’

The upcoming debates will be different to those held in during previous campaigns in that they will not be performed before a studio audience. Furthermore, the candidate who is not supposed to be speaking at the time will have his mic cut.

During Friday’s campaign stop, Trump went on to pledge a reversal of Biden’s environmental policies when it comes to automakers before railing against how the economy was performing. He also vowed to fix the ongoing border crisis.

Trump also took aim at Biden’s habit telling false stories when it comes to his life experiences.

‘He’s so full of s***,’ Trump said to laughter.

‘He’s a horrible president who is destroying our country,’ he went on before adding, ‘He’s a horrible human being too.’

Trump then shifted to calling the president a ‘non-athlete’ and attacked his golf game, accusing him of inflating his golfing abilities.

Trump repeated a false claim that he won Minnesota in the 2020 election, wrongly declaring he won ‘a landslide in your state.’

There’s no evidence that there were any serious irregularities in the state.

He campaigned in Minnesota after attending his son Barron’s high school graduation in Florida. Minnesota is traditionally a Democratic state but Trump believes he can carry it in November.

No Republican presidential candidate has won Minnesota since Richard Nixon in 1972, but Trump came close to flipping the state in 2016, when he fell 1.5 percentage points short of Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Later today he is expected to address thousands of members of the National Rifle Association in Texas.

Trump will give the keynote address as the powerful gun lobby holds a forum in Dallas. Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott will also speak at the convention.

Trump has pledged to continue to defend the Second Amendment and has called himself ‘the best friend gun owners have ever had in the White House’ as the country faces record numbers of deaths due to mass shootings.

Last year ended with 42 mass killings and 217 deaths, making it one of the deadliest years on record.

Speaking during Friday’s campaign event, Trump said, ‘You know, it’s an amazing thing. People that have guns, people that legitimately have guns, they love guns and they use guns for the right purpose, but they tend to vote very little and yet they have to vote for us.

‘There’s nobody else to vote for because the Democrats want to take their guns away and they will take their guns away.’ He added, ‘That’s why I’m going to be talking to the NRA tomorrow to say, ‘You gotta get out and vote.”

While Trump sees strong support in Texas, Democrats think they have a chance at an upset in November with former NFL player U.S. Rep. Colin Allred leading an underdog campaign to unseat Republican Sen. Ted Cruz.

No Democrat has won a statewide office in Texas in 30 years, which is the longest streak of its kind in the U.S.
