Five fire crews with 25 firefighters rushed to the Dukes Highway outside Cooke Plains after the B-double truck caught ablaze.
The driver of the truck had safely gotten out of the car and detached the prime mover while flames incinerated the trailers – and the contents.
“Fire cause is believed to be a mechanical fault in one of the trailers which were both significantly impacted with damaged costs estimated at $400,000,” Country Fire Service said in a statement.
