Police are investigating whether an argument about belongings led to a man’s death after a body was found inside a caravan at a storage facility in Caboolture, north of Brisbane.

The body of a 60-year-old man was found at a commercial storage facility on Morayfield Road, South Caboolture on Sunday, December 1.

A 47-year-old man, believed to be related to the dead man, was charged with murder today.

Police allege the 60-year-old man had been assaulted in the storage unit, then moved into the caravan on Sunday.

Police said the dead man’s partner had expected him to come home, and when he didn’t, she became concerned before finding his body inside the caravan.

The alleged attacker left the area before she arrived.

Police are investigating whether there had been an incident between the two men over some property at the location.

Detective Inspector David Harbison said there were no outstanding persons of interest involved in the case.

“The motive is still under investigation, it was nothing major, we know that,” he said.

“It was over something trivial we believe.

“Our condolences go out to all of the family of the deceased.”

The 47-year-old Caboolture man was arrested about 240 kilometres away in Ballina, NSW at a motel this morning.

He was charged with one count of murder (domestic violence) and faced Ballina Local Court this morning.

He was extradited to Queensland and has been kept in custody to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow.
