The 37-year-old man, who did not want to reveal his name, had travelled into the city with his girlfriend from Sydney en route to the Northern Territory on Thursday.

He left his Airbnb about 2am to retrieve his drone charger from his car parked on Franklin Street, near Elizabeth Street, when a group allegedly threatened him with knives and demanded money.

The man suffered stab wounds to his arm and leg, and scratches to his hand, but was able to flee to safety.

Police said investigations led them to a home in Adelaide yesterday, where two suspects were arrested.

Today, a third suspect was also arrested at another home in Adelaide.

“A multi-tool stolen from the victim was recovered at a Campbelltown address today,” police said in a statement.

A 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman from Campbelltown and an 18-year-old man from Adelaide were charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault causing harm.

Police said they were seeking a fourth suspect and asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The victim detailed the horrifying incident last week.

“I tried to close the door but two of them just try to open it and they open the door and stab me twice,” he told 9News.

“Suddenly another guy just opened the driver door and put his blade on my throat.

“So I fell on the ground and just ran away and he tried to find the key but he couldn’t so I realised my key was in my pocket.”

His injuries were not serious and he was released from hospital.
