“Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones.”

Friends have started a fundraiser.

Gurdip Grewal said he was from the same Indian village, and said Kaur was bound for home.

“Our dear friend Manpreet left us too soon, leaving a void in our lives that can never be filled,” he wrote.

“As we grieve her passing, we want to come together to honour her memory and support her family in their time of need.”

Grewal told News Corp his friend had been feeling unwell.

Victoria Police and Victoria Ambulance confirmed they attended the airport.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
