There has been a tragic outcome in the search for a young Australian woman who went missing from her home more than three days ago.
ACT Police had asked the public for help locating 26-year-old Mathilde Innes Pouliquin who was last seen in the Canberra suburb of Dixon on Friday, September 27.
The police asked Canberrans to be on the lookout for Ms Pouliquin, who was described as Caucasian in appearance, with a slim build and dark curly hair.
Significant concerns were held for her welfare.
It was not known what clothing she had on when she left her home, but she was driving a hail-damaged red/maroon Volkswagen Golf hatchback with ACT registration YOP57Z.
In a tragic update on Sunday night, police confirmed that the body of a woman reported missing from the nation’s capital had been found in regional NSW.
The woman was found near Wells Creek in Berrima, a small country town in the state’s Southern Highlands, at about 11.45am on Sunday.

‘At this time, investigators believe it is the missing 26-year-old woman (Ms Pouliquin) we posted about on Friday and Saturday,’ police said.
‘There are no suspicious circumstances being considered by police.’
A report outlining the circumstances of the woman’s death will be prepared by police for the Coroner.
