A swimmer has drowned at a popular beach.
The man disappeared in the surf at the southern end of Broadbeach in Queensland on Thursday.
Lifeguards searched for the man and pulled him from the water unconscious around 1.30pm.
They began CPR until Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics arrived and took over.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
