A fed-up tradie (pictured) has slammed 'lazy' Aussies for not working extra hours to afford skyrocketing rental prices, saying if people have a 's***' life they deserve it

A fed-up construction boss has slammed Australia’s workers as ‘lazy’ and entitled, arguing they should pick up extra hours if they’re struggling with the cost of living.

The tradie, who calls himself ‘Dark Angel’, shared his thoughts on the work ethic of those who complain about money, arguing that they deserved to have a ‘sh*t life’.

‘The rent, it’s gone up by $200 a week, and instead of working extra hours, they’re moving home, back with their parents,’ he said.

‘Everybody is so f***king lazy. Nobody wants to work.’

He said people didn’t deserve to have an expensive car or nice house if they weren’t willing to get off their ‘fat a*** and go to work’.

‘If you have a sh*t life, it’s because you made that choice. We live in a lazy world, Australians are so f***king lazy, and that is not a joke,’ he said.

‘Wherever you are today, that’s what you deserve. If you have a small income, that’s all you deserve. If you have a shit car, it’s all you deserve.’

The construction boss said young men who contacted him looking for work were too preoccupied with the specifics of the role.

‘They ring and ask me, “boss you got a job?” and their asking where’s the job? “Is there any parking, how much do I pay a week”, so many questions,’ he said.

‘”How many hours do I have to work on Saturday?” There’s so much work in Australia guys and anybody can make top dollars, but nobody wants to do the work.’

The tradie said Aussies prefer to party than work to make extra money, saying people who refused to put the hard yards in deserved their ‘s*** life’.

He scoffed at the idea that people needed a work/life balance.

‘You have no f***king life, you’re struggling. What do you mean you need a life? You’re only working 40 hours a week,’ he continued.

‘Balance? What do you mean balance? You need to work harder so you can afford things. This one is for you, this one is for the lazy people.’

During the lengthy rant, he also slammed ‘lazy’ people who relied on immigrants to do jobs they could do themselves, as the Albanese government reportedly plans for a total of 650,000 new migrants to settle here by mid-2024.

‘We don’t need anybody from overseas. There’s so much work, and anybody can make top dollars. If every single one of you work hard you’ll be on the top.

‘But guess what, nobody wants to do the hard yards. Everybody wants to be lazy.’

The construction boss shared his own disciplined routine, saying he got up at 5am every morning to work at the job site six days a week.

The construction boss has received a mixed response from Aussies online.

‘Thanks for the video, that’s why I wake up at 4am every single day and finish my second job around 10pm. Six days a week, no complaint,’ one said.

‘I’ll work 80 hours I don’t care, as long I’m working and making money that’s what matters,’ another wrote.

‘Man has got a point. Too many people waiting for life to do everything for them,’ a third commented.

However, others heaped the blame on other factors like the rising cost of living.

‘Not every job pays top dollars and rent is going up a lot,’ one said.

‘What if your student and studying,’ another pointed out.

‘That’s not the problem it’s the banks and big companies rising prices,’ a third wrote.

Australia’s unemployment rate continues to hover around 50-year lows, holding at 3.5 per cent in March.

Around 53,000 jobs were estimated to be added over the month, official Australian Bureau of Statistics labour force data reveals, with the workforce participation rate holding at 66.7 per cent.

With employment increasing by around 53,000 people, and the number of unemployed decreasing by 1,600 people, the unemployment rate remained at a near 50-year low of 3.5 per cent,” ABS head of labour statistics Lauren Ford said.

She said the figures reflected ongoing tightness in the labour market and they explained why employers were finding it hard to fill roles.
