Two dangerous inmates who broke out of prison and were on the run for three days have been caught by police after they were spotted by a member of the public.
Vaughn Michael James Hunter, 31, and Fabien Brian Galigan, 20, fled from Townsville Correctional Centre on Sunday night.
The pair ‘walked out’ of the facility’s low-security custody farm around 9pm, sparking an urgent manhunt for the escapees.
Hunter is serving ten months for serious assault and Galigan two years and six months for wounding.

A member of the public saw the men near the intersection of Ross River Rd and Bowen Rd in Mundingburra about 1.15am on Wednesday.

The witness contacted police who arrested the two inmates later that morning.
The pair have faced Townsville Magistrates Court.
