Tori Spelling has shared the story behind her new fashion accessory.
The “A Friend to Die For” actress recently explained that she began wearing an eye patch after suffering a reaction while talking to her long-time friend, Jennie Garth. The update comes after she was seen at an event in Los Angeles pairing her pink and black ensemble with the bedazzled pink accessory.
Tori Spelling Owns Up To Being Responsible For Her Eye Ulcer
Spelling showed how much of a good sport she is when she detailed the events that led to her developing an ulcer in her left eye on the most recent installation of her “9021OMG” podcast.
The actress kicked things off by repeatedly quipping to Garth, who doubles as her co-host, to “look me in my good eye” before she began her explanation. “It’s so silly; it’s my fault; I did this to myself,” she admitted before narrating:
“So I have contacts, but I have the daily ones and at the end of the day, kids, whatever.… I can make all the excuses I want; I don’t take them out, I sleep in them, and it’s not healthy.”

Her co-host was prompted to guess the number of days she keeps her contacts in, landing on seven days, which Spelling countered. In the Young Artist Award winner’s words, “Seven weeks. I’m exaggerating. But I’ve been known to go maybe 20 days. I know you, guys, it’s shaming [SIC].”
She added that her doctor informed her of how lucky she was to have walked away with the relatively simple injury of an eye ulcer. Despite the diagnosis, the “Calls for Cthulhu,” the actress declared that she would give wearing contacts another chance by switching to “30-day ones when this heals.”
The 49-year-old’s update shared on Instagram proved helpful to a few viewers, with one stating in the comment section, “As someone new to contacts… I’m taking notes of what not to do.”
Spelling first disclosed the eye condition through her Instagram Story late last month, where she posted that her doctor had prescribed antibiotics drops. She dropped a photo of herself lying down, writing in the accompanying text:

“Thx to all the well wishes and concern. Everyone is asking if I scratched my cornea. It’s actually an ulcer on my eye. Antibiotic drops and Dr said it will ‘hopefully’ heal in 7-10 days.”
Medical experts explain that the most common cause of corneal ulcers is bacteria, fungi, viruses, or parasite infection. Symptoms include blurry vision, itching, bloodshot eyes, sensitivity to light, and painful, watery eyes.
Even though corneal ulcers are treatable, with most people recovering quite well after treatment, an eyesight reduction may occur.
The Golden Raspberry Award Nominee’s Daughter Was Hospitalized For Severe Migraine
The Blast noted that Spelling shed light on a health challenge that her daughter, Stella Doreen, inherited from her paternal side. In a conversation with Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis, the California native revealed that the 14-year-old was having difficulty after being diagnosed with hemiplegic migraine, an illness mimicking a stroke.
Thus, the migraine resulted in the teenager being partially numb in her left arm, half her throat, and mouth. According to the “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” star, Stella was still feeling “dizzy and nauseous” and was tackling the problem by seeing a neurologist at a children’s hospital. She added that the migraine plaguing Stella is hereditary and from her husband, Dean McDermott’s family. She quipped:
“It’s a hereditary migraine… It actually doesn’t run in my family; I found it runs in Dean’s family. More things to blame him for.”
The “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” star previously shared a photo of her daughter wearing a hospital gown, with multiple wires attached to her body from a machine. The health crisis came on the heels of her son, Beau Dean, visiting the hospital following a battle with high fevers and flu.
The family’s health woes included the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum hospitalized after she “felt too sick to work.” She updated her fans on the development with a pic of her throwing the peace sign while donning a hospital gown.
Across the Instagram Story, she penned, “Here I am in the hospital since late last night,” adding that she had “high blood pressure and crazy dizziness.”
