A toddler has died after being hit by a car outside a school in Brisbane’s south-west.

Emergency services were called to Durack State School in Durack about 3.30pm after receiving reports the boy had been struck by a car.

Paramedics arrived and treated the child, who had suffered serious head injuries and bleeding, but despite their efforts, he tragically died at the scene about 4.10pm.

Detectives arrived at the scene and were investigating the incident.

The female driver is assisting police with their enquiries.

Durack is located about 17km from Brisbane’s CBD.
