Wreaths can be seen laid on the monument, as the soldiers stand to mark the formal occasion.

Roi Mandel, Director of Research at MyHeritage, which colourised the photos, said: “Once we saw this collection, we knew we had to do something with it.

“This is an area that the world is fascinated by, documented 100 years ago, as no one has seen it.”
