Thousands of attendees for Dua Lipa‘s Sydney concert have been left stranded outside the arena after reporting the ticketing app used for the event crashed.

One concertgoer, Paula Deyah, said frustrated fans had been left waiting in huge queues for hours outside Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday night.

Fans were forced to search through their emails for the digital copies of tickets and door staff had to manually check each one before letting anyone inside.

Twitter was flooded with complaints from people who were still stuck outside just before 9pm – half an hour after the event’s scheduled 8.30pm start.

Tickets to the concert were sold through Ticketek.

‘Should be a great show if the website and app work… kids are out here crying because they can’t get in,’ one person wrote.

‘What a disaster this is, the app doesn’t work and tickets are not valid for many people,’ another said.

Dua Lipa appeared on stage just after 9pm and apologised to fans, thanking them for their patience .

Qudos Bank Arena has been contacted for comment.
