The Trump Administration Is About to Make a HUGE Move Against the Deep State

Closing the tabs

Ed: My own thoughts on this are here. “If it is authenticated” is an important qualifier, but it prompts another question — why did it take four years and a change of administrations to attempt to authenticate it?

===

In reality, as we all know, it ended up being lies purchased by the Clinton Campaign. And by the time the ICA had been drafted, Director Brennan knew that Hillary Clinton had approved of a plan to link Trump to Russia. And even when confronted by CIA senior officers with the flaws of the Steele Dossier, Brennan shrugged them off, stating “Yes, but doesn’t it ring true?”

Second is their claim that “multiple, thorough, yearslong reviews of the assessment [ICA] have validated its findings and the rigor of its analysis.”

Of course, this ignores the obvious: that the memo released by DNI Gabbard damns both the ICA’s material findings (at least some of them) and the rigor of the ICA’s analysis. Citing to old “reviews” doesn’t change the most recent disclosures. But failing to address the substance of these July 2025 releases does indicate an effort by Brennan and Clapper to avoid a serious discussion of their own intelligence abuses.

Ed: That effort continues to this day. This argument from TechnoFog may get eclipsed by today’s disclosures, which further validate his point, but it deserves to be read as the conspirators keep trying to spin lies to get out from under the obvious conclusion of corruption. Be sure to read it all.

… suggests foreknowledge FBI and CIA involvement.

Ed: It certainly suggests that the FBI and CIA knew the truth of this in 2016, whether they were involved in the actual effort or not. Why didn’t they declare it a dirty trick at the time, rather than use it to launch a criminal investigation into a sitting president based on nothing more than already discredited oppo research from a political rival? That’s the main question, from which the conspiracy questions will likely flow.

U.S. intelligence services obtained information during the 2016 presidential campaign suggesting that President Barack Obama planned to scuttle an FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server and mishandling of classified information during her time as secretary of state.

Obama’s FBI also failed to investigate obtained information alleging that the Democratic Party planned to tie Clinton’s rival Donald Trump to the “Russian mafia,” the declassified documents show. The revelations come from the annex of John Durham’s 2023 Special Counsel report, declassified by Sen. Chuck Grassley Thursday.

Ed: It’s worth noting that all of this has its origins in the Benghazi debacle that cost four American lives. Neither Obama nor Hillary fully disclosed what happened that night, and it’s not even known where Obama physically was during that period of time. The congressional probe into Benghazi revealed Hillary’s effort to hide her communications from Congress and the courts by using an unsecured private e-mail server rather than official State Department systems. This was more than just a conspiracy aimed at the election; it was an ongoing cover-up that kept expanding.

Ed: Easy to say. Tougher to deliver.

“She said, ‘Make sure you are being authentic to yourself, and don’t do anything because someone is asking you to do that,’” recalled Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, a Democrat from Harris’ home state of California. “‘You do it because that’s what you want to do and that’s the right thing to do.’”

On Wednesday, Harris took her own advice.

“At the end of the day, when she did her own gut check — to put it in the prosecutorial parlance — she had reasonable doubt,” said Sean Clegg, one of her longest-serving political advisers.

Ed: Harris didn’t do a gut check. She’s gutless, which is why she hid from the media for the 107 days of her campaign.

===

Ed: Hey, at least Colbert can relate to Harris! But one has to wonder why Harris is willing to do these interviews live now when she refused to engage the media at all when it might have mattered. Don’t expect Colbert to ask that question, though; he’ll just pose both of them as martyrs in the Orange Man Bad Era.

===

Ed: The same thing was true in 2019. Harris started off with an advantage, and quickly lost it when her incoherence became obvious, especially after Tulsi Gabbard destroyed her in two successive debates.

===

Ed: I wonder how many cuts it took to make this clip as coherent as it is. You’re better off buying “Butler: The Untold Story of the Near Assassination of Donald Trump and the Fight for America’s Heartland” by Salena Zito if you want a clear explanation of what happened over the 115 days of the campaign after the assassination attempt. Or just read through our archives, but buy Salena’s book nonetheless.

Harvard University announced a new undergraduate program and fellowship with Israeli institutions Monday, expanding academic ties as federal pressure mounts over its alleged mishandling of campus anti-Semitism.

Beginning in spring 2026, Harvard undergraduates will be eligible to study for credit at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, a public research university in southern Israel known for work in climate science and biotechnology. The Harvard Crimson reported the program is part of the university’s Office of International Education and expands the existing list of approved Israeli partners, which includes Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Ed: This is a couple of days old but still worth watching. I’d bet that Harvard will use it in court to argue that they are reforming themselves and deserve reconnection to federal funding.

… attempting to kill, kidnap, and harass journalists, dissidents, Jewish citizens, and current and former officials in their countries.

The statement also accuses the Islamic Republic of Iran of collaborating with international criminal organizations to conduct these operations.

Ed: It’s notable that all of these countries agree on this and are willing to make this accusation public. But how many of them are still willing to let the terror-supporting Iranian regime enrich uranium? What will they do about the mullahs of Tehran, apart from the occasional strongly worded memo?

Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle campaign is not only sparking controversy. It’s giving fans a case of pop culture déjà vu.

The “Euphoria” star’s collaboration with the clothing brand has been drawing criticism for its double entendre-laden tagline, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.” …

Aside from its questionable marketing, the jeans campaign is also earning scrutiny for its alleged similarities to Brooke Shields’ 1980 Calvin Klein ad, which drew controversy for its perceived sexual tone.

Ed: This is a deeply stupid comparison. Shields was FIFTEEN YEARS OLD at the time, which is why the 1980 campaign was controversial even then. Her mother pushed her into sexualized roles and poses, starting with Louis Malle’s “Pretty Baby,” where she was portraying a prostitute at 11 years old, including nude scenes. Sweeney is 28 years old and making her decisions as an adult. And for that matter, the same people comparing the two are likely those who would have defended Malle in 1977, or claim that prepubescent children can “choose their gender.”
