A three-year-old child has been hit by a car while sitting on a verge in Rangeway, Western Australia.

Police allege a white Hyundai i30 hatchback was driving on Aaron Close when it hit a three-year-old boy sitting on a verge just after 6pm yesterday.

The three-year-old was taken to Geraldton Hospital by Ambulance and was then transported to Perth Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver allegedly fled the scene following the crash.

Police are urging anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward.
