A car and van collided on Coppins Crossing Road near Hazel Hawke Avenue in Whitlam, in the city’s north west, just before 3pm today.
Two of the survivors were taken to hospital, one in a critical condition.
The three who died were passengers in a red Toyota hatchback, ACT Police said.
The driver of that car and the driver of the white Toyota van involved, were rushed to hospital.

ACT Police appealed for anybody who saw the crash or who had dash cam video to contact them.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
ACT Police said 17 people have died on the territory’s roads this year.
