Two men and a woman have been charged with murder after a teenager’s body was found in a burnt-out car in northern Victoria on Christmas Eve.

Emergency services were called to a car fire on Loch Garry Road in Bunbartha, near Shepparton, about 10am on December 24.

After the fire was extinguished, the body of 19-year-old Wangaratta man Charlie Gander was found inside the car.

His brother has posted a tribute on Facebook, saying: “My heart aches to know you’re really gone. It still doesn’t seem real.”

Homicide Squad detectives arrested a 38-year-old Shepparton man, a 37-year-old Shepparton woman and a 24-year-old Mooroopna man in Shepparton this morning.

The three were interviewed over the teen’s death before being charged with one count of murder each. They will appear in court next week.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the fire or who may have further information about the man’s death to contact them.
