The three males, aged between 16 to 25, have been charged with a range of burglary and dangerous driving offences, Queensland police said today.
Police allege they are linked to two other alleged burglaries in the Gold Coast area.
One of the men was allegedly seen knocking on the door of a Pimpama property yesterday afternoon.
When nobody answered, CCTV footage showed the trio appearing to turn the home’s power off at the meter.
Police said a neighbour witnessed the alleged attempted break-in and intervened.
“If she didn’t yell out and stop them, they would have kept trying to break into the house,” a witness at the scene said.
9News understands that residents of the house were not home, having just left to collect their children from school.
After the three men left the house, police spotted the allegedly stolen car.
Tyre spikes were used to stop the black sedan near Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast, south of Brisbane.
The car had allegedly been reported stolen about an hour earlier from an address at Pimpama.
Witnesses allegedly saw the car driving on its rims even after the tyre spikes were deployed.
Police alleged three people fled the vehicle but they arrested all of them.
One was found in the backyard of a nearby home, two were found in a park.
A 16-year-old boy was charged with several burglary offences, dangerous operation of a vehicle and unlicenced driving.
He was refused bail and was due to appear before a court today.
A 25-year-old from Kingston and a 19-year-old were both charged with one count each of “enter dwelling and commit”, receiving tainted property and attempted enter dwelling with intent in company.
The two men were also refused bail and were expected to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
Police will allege the group is linked to two other burglaries, at Ormea Hills earlier on Friday and another at Upper Coomera on April 19.
Investigations into all of these incidents are ongoing.
