Australians are expected to save up to 80 per cent on 11,000 new household appliances when they go up for auction with bidding starting at just $1.

Lloyds Auctions is auctioning the appliances from high-end brands like Smeg, Sony and Dyson.

“It is the entire contents of a major appliance retailer, so it has everything from televisions all the way down to air fryers and everything in between and all of your major brands as well,” Lloyds Auctions’ chief operations officer Lee Hames told 9News.

The items landed at the auctioneers after an insurance claim.

“Some smoke had gone through one of the major appliance retailers locally,” Hames said.

“So all of the contents had to be picked up within about five days, which resulted in about 50 truckloads all heading towards Lloyds.”

The products, some of them display models, were not compromised.

All up, the items are worth a total of $6 million with buyers expected to save up to 80 per cent.

“For example, we’ve got this Hisense here from $2500 retail. I think you’d pick that up for around $1000 at auction so lots of money to be saved,” Hames said.

“We expect some really serious savings at this auction.”

The 11,000 items will be sold across 25 auctions run over 12 days, starting tonight.

The items are based in the Gold Coast but interstate buyers are welcome to join the auction online with shipping available.

“Everything that is boxed, we will be shipping Australia-wide and everything that’s on display will be pick-up only,” Hames said.
