A teenage girl has died after the allegedly stolen car she was travelling in crashed into a Mercedes SUV.

Emergency services were called to Mahoneys Road in the north Melbourne suburb of Thomastown about 1.10am on Sunday after an allegedly stolen Kia Cerato and the Mercedes collided.

Police and ambulance crews started performing CPR on one of the passengers of the Cerato – a 19-year-old girl from Mill Park- but she could not be revived.

A female passenger, 21, from the Cerato and a man and a woman, both aged in their 30s, from the Mercedes were taken to hospital with injuries.
