The Yankees’ rivals don’t look up for giving them a real AL East fight

The Yankees traveled to Baltimore on Monday in the midst of three straight series against AL East opponents.

Early reminder: Despite the Yankees’ issues, they’re almost always good.

They won a series over the weekend against the perennially disappointing Blue Jays, they opened against the Orioles at Camden Yards with a 4-3 loss to move to 17-12 and they’ll finish the string with three games in The Bronx against the Rays, their scuffling Steinbrenner Field tenants.

The Orioles were set to take a step forward with their young stars and perhaps challenge the Yankees for the AL East title.
