The world’s media made withering verdicts on Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary.

The release of the first three hours of the six-part series drew cutting remarks from media commentators and TV critics.

Laurent Sagalovitsch, of French online magazine Slate, described the Sussexes as ‘nothing but a vague actress and a fallen prince, both united behind the idea of selling to the highest bidder the story of their undying vacuousness’.

He also questioned why we ‘have to put up with the endless tale of these lovebirds whose intellectual horizons, if they exist, are limited to what font to use on Instagram’.

In the US, Daniel D’Addario, of Variety magazine, said: ‘The Sussexes surprise us yet again with just how narrow their vision of their fame is, how pinched and unimaginative their presence on the world stage has become.’

He wrote: ‘They may have shed their responsibilities to the Crown, but they’re still in a kind of service. There’s an air of duty about the entire enterprise of Harry & Meghan as if they’re honour-bound to keep reciting their personal story until we eventually lose interest.’
