Spring has sprung, and with it, you’ll start to see all sorts of new growth in your backyard—possibly including The Woman in the Yard, the 2025 horror movie coming to digital platforms tomorrow.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (House of Wax, Carry-On), with a screenplay written by Sam Stafanak, The Woman in the Yard tells the story of a married couple (Danielle Deadwyler and Russell Hornsby) and their two children (Peyton Jackson and Estella Kahina) who live a peaceful life in a remote farmhouse. Or at least, it was peaceful until a mysterious woman in a black veil shows up in the family’s backyard, to warn them that “today’s the day.”
The Woman in the Yard was produced by Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions, and earned a respectable $21 million at the worldwide box office, off of a production budget of around $12 million. So is it surprising that Universal is releasing this horror flick on digital platforms after just over two weeks in theaters?
Not really. In fact, most Universal titles have been pushed “premium” video-on-demand after just over two weeks in theaters. But if you don’t want to drop $25 to watch The Woman in the Yard, read on to find out when we expect to see The Woman in the Yard movie streaming free on Peacock.
Where to watch The Woman in the Yard movie on streaming:
Beginning on Tuesday, April 15 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also April 14 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time) The Woman in the Yard movie will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the film costs $24.99 to buy a digital copy, and $19.99 to rent. If you rent the movie, you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting “play.”
The Woman in the Yard is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but we do expect to see The Woman in the Yard streaming on Peacock soon.
When will The Woman in the Yard movie be streaming on Peacock?
The Woman in the Yard movie‘s streaming release date on Peacock has not yet been announced, but we know that The Woman in the Yard will stream on Peacock eventually because it is a Universal movie, and Peacock is the streaming service owned by Universal. All the new Universal theatrical movies end up streaming on Peacock, though the wait period has varied by title.
Another Universal release, Nosferatu, began streaming on Peacock on February 21, which was about two months after the movie opened in theaters, and about one month after the film released on digital.
If The Woman in the Yard follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital by late April 2025, and streaming on Peacock around late May 2025.
This is all speculation. Universal has not had a consistent digital release strategy. Speak No Evil, for example, took three months to stream on Peacock, rather than two. So it’s possible The Woman in the Yard won’t be streaming until late June 2025. If you want to watch The Woman in the Yard movie right away, you can buy or rent the movie on digital platforms starting tomorrow.
