Tayla Damir has revealed the challenges of living away from her family in Melbourne after revealing plans to relocate back to her hometown in WA

Footy WAG Tayla Damir has opened up on the challenges of living away from her family in Melbourne after revealing plans to relocate back to her hometown in Western Australia.

The former Love Island Australia star, 27, admitted on Monday, she ‘hates’ not having her family in the Victorian capital, where she currently lives with her Richmond Tigers AFL star husband Nathan Broad and their daughter Samara.

During an Instagram Q&A, one fan asked: ‘Does it upset you not having your mum around 24/7 with Samara?’

‘Yes I hate it. It’s upsetting having absolutely no family in Melbourne, but it is what it is,’ Tayla responded.

‘We just count ourselves lucky that they are in a position that they can come visit us a lot.’

Tayla’s confession comes after she recently revealed the reason why she and Nathan, 30, are moving back to Western Australia.

She announced in October that they will build a new home in Perth for their family.

In February, Tayla gave an insight into the big decision during another Instagram Stories Q&A session.

One fan asked her: ‘Will you ever move back to WA?’, to which Tayla simply replied: ‘Yes,’ alongside a snap from a lavish building overlooking the Perth cityscape.

Of her building plans, another fan asked: ‘Why are you building a house in WA when Nathan plays for Richmond?’

Tayla responded: ‘He won’t play footy forever.’

‘Sharing the process of our Perth build. Excited is an understatement,’ she captioned alongside a recent image of an interior.

Tayla and Nathan, who tied the knot in October 2022, welcomed their first child together – a daughter named Samara – in August.
