A serial cheater who brutally murdered his pregnant lover in Perth has been sentenced to life behind bars.

Janet Dweh was 36 years old and weeks away from giving birth when she was bludgeoned to death.

Dweh was hit in head at least 30 times with a hammer inside her Dayton home in October 2021.

She was killed by her lover Hassan Jabbie, who was a married man and didn’t want her to go through with the pregnancy.

The geo-technician has continuously denied the crime – despite confiding in an undercover officer posing as his cellmate when he was initially arrested.

Jabbie told the covert officer he wished he’d “never met the bitch”.

He told the officer he went to talk to Dweh about her pregnancy but “the idiot refused” to get an abortion and that’s when things turned violent.

Today the court heard of Jabbie’s troubled past – how he fled Liberia as a child and witnessed his younger brother’s murder, which caused him to develop PTSD.

Jabbie showed no emotion as his sentence was handed down.

He was told he’d have to serve at least 24 years behind bars before being able to apply for parole.

Dweh’s loved ones filled the courtroom, saying they’re relieved to have gotten justice.

Her brother Jeremiah said they’ll always remember Dweh as “somebody that was loving, a part of the community” and “a fantastic woman that was extremely hard working”.
