SHOCKING NEWSFLASH!: Liz Cheney Comes Out for Kamala Harris

Tim Walz said a lot of strange things during the debate, but one struck me as truly bizarre: his pride in the Harris coalition.

You can toss in hundreds of deep-state operatives, Hamas supporters, the IRS, and the Mullahs of Iran.

Walz is right that this is a surprising coalition but not one you would expect anybody to be proud of. You have CIA operatives, NSA operatives, the woke wing of the military, and, of course, all the illegal aliens who are scared to death that Donald Trump might regain power.

This is the coalition of the Establishment–and yes, Bernie Sanders is aligned with, if not part of, the Establishment.

It’s hard to know if this pitch of Walz’s strikes anybody as a positive for the Harris/Walz team. Clearly, they think so since they keep trotting out these endorsements as if people should rush to join that team. But for anybody who has soured on the direction our country has taken in the past decade or two, putting these names together is a reason to light up the Bat Signal and call for help.

If endorsements matter–and in most cases, they don’t–I would think that Trump’s are much more compelling. And if the crowds that flock to Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr. are any indication, theirs are among the few that really do mobilize voters. Each of them has been on the stump, drawing crowds, and Harris has just trotted out Liz Cheney to rally for her.

I wonder if that will draw anybody in.

I can’t tell if there is something to the calculation that the Harris campaign is making. Is there some odd group of Democrat voters who see Dick Cheney’s endorsement as a plus? He was Darth Cheney not so long ago.

We live in a world where the intelligence establishment, the FBI, the IRS, and the neocons have joined with Hollywood icons in a coalition dedicated to crushing the working class.

Who would have foreseen this 20 years ago? Perhaps the same people who thought Donald Trump could become a Republican star who mobilizes the working class.

However bizarre, the coalitions behind each candidate tell you more than the position statements. Do you want Trump, RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, and Elon Musk or Dick Cheney, Taylor Swift, the IRS, the CIA, and Bernie Sanders?

Matt Taibbi hit the nail on the head when describing the ruling elite: they are worse than worthless. They are a terrible drag on our country.

Yet, somehow, large numbers of Americans back them. Go figure.
