In case this wasn’t already made clear: Don’t mess with Patrick Mahomes’ mom! The NFL quarterback’s mother, Randi Mahomes, has also used social media to express her true feelings about what goes down on the field during her son’s games.
During a January 2021 game against the Cleveland Browns, for example, Patrick suffered a concussion after being tackled by linebacker Mack Wilson. Despite it being considered a clean hit that wasn’t to the head, Randi wasn’t pleased. “#51 Wilson that’s some trash football leading with the helmet, pulling his head and pushing helmet.. why are you not thrown out!?? Come on NFL,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet (via CBS Sports). She added in another, as captured by USA Today, “#51 evil NEVER WINS!!!” While Wilson did not specify who he was talking about, he tweeted that same day, “Never been a dirty player in my life. I just try my best to play fast and make plays. Don’t try to insult me & keep the threats to yourself.”

Meanwhile, Patrick had no hard feelings toward Wilson’s hit, tweeting, “All good brother!” Wilson later apologized to Mahomes’ mother the next day on Twitter: “No disrespect mom I’m just playing hard. This is a dangerous game we play and we take a risk every time we step foot on the field.” He added, “I just want to win and be great like your son.” All things seemed to be settled when Randi accepted Wilson’s apology, expressing that it was difficult seeing her son hurt.
