Logies host Sam Pang opens the ceremony with a VERY cheeky dig at Channel Seven’s court drama

Logies host comedian Sam Pang has unleashed on Channel Seven in a ruthless opening monologue at the 2024 Logie Awards.

‘Firstly, Channel 7, well, I’m just letting you all know I’m going to say whatever I want tonight. I stand before you safe in the knowledge that whatever I say, this network will defend me in court,’ he said.

‘And with their Impeccable record in defamation cases over the last 12 months I reckon I’ll be fine. Full disclosure – I’m not getting paid by Channel Seven tonight.

‘Instead, for the next 12 months, they’re paying my rent. Which is handy as they’ll know what address to send the Thai masseuse to.’

Pang also had some choice words for Channel Ten.

‘It’s been a tough 12 months for Channel Ten, although they did bring back ‘Deal Or No Deal’ hosted by Grant Denyer, a show where contestants get to open a briefcase and try to guess how much money the network is losing each week,’ he said.

‘And it comes to Channel 9…all good, no notes. Carry on.’

Kate Ritchie, 46, looks decades younger in show-stopping nude gown just days after being pictured falling out of a car

Kate Ritchie made sure all eyes were on her as she arrived for the 2024 Logie Awards in Sydney on Sunday night.

The 46-year-old looked decades younger as she worked her angles on the red carpet in the floor length dress.

It comes after Kate was spotted looking worse for wear last weekend when she was pictured making her way to an event in Sydney.

She was seen stumbling as she tried to get out of her chauffeur-driven car in Camperdown, located 4km from the CBD.

The Nova radio presenter appeared to lose her footing as she exited the vehicle, slipping back and landing on the floor.

Kate’s driver helped her out of the car, holding her clutch and fetching her dropped keys from the ground, before he helped her back into the vehicle.

The photos, obtained exclusively by Daily Mail Australia, weren’t mentioned when the radio star chatted to her co-stars on Monday morning.

Kate Ritchie pictured barefoot and in her pyjamas as she drops off her daughter Mae to a friends place. It was noticed that Kate was driving erratically at times speeding and jumping gutters. Later Kate was picked up by a limousine and travelled to Camperdown Commons. On exiting the vehicle Kate looked worse for wear and took a fall at which point she decided to go home.NOTE: The caption above is the photographer's impression only and may or may not be factual. Viewers lash out at ‘irrelevant’ ceremony and constant The Voice promotions:

The Logie Awards got off to a glamorous start on Sunday night.

But not everyone watching the telecast was impressed, with many viewers tuning in to Channel Seven mocking the show.

Australian television’s night of nights went down like a lead balloon with some, and several people shared their thoughts on X.

‘Is anyone even going to watch the Logies? Except for Sam Pang , I have zero interest’ wrote one person.

Another agreed: ‘Literally just said that to the missus. How is the Logies still a thing??’

‘The Logies is so f***ing funny bro like the only people really caring about them is the celebrities involved and at the event the only reason it is worth watching is for the Twitter feed’ someone else said.

Mother and Son star Denise Scott, 69, issued brutal warning after WILD after-party antics

Stars looking for a decent ‘kick on’ would do well to stick close to Denise Scott.

Her Mother and Son co-star Matt Okine revealed to Daily Mail Australia that hotel management had to warn the pair, given Denise’s penchant for wild after parties.

‘The hotel actually had to send a warning,’ Matt revealed standing next to Denise on the Logies red carpet.

‘They sat us down and said, “Look, no kick ons at Denise’s room. There have been too many complaints in the past.”‘

Matt added that it wasn’t just loud noises and late nights that management were worried about, but also Denise’s penchant for willfully destroying hotel property like a 1970s rock star.

‘We can’t afford to buy another TV, if this one gets, you know, thrown off the balcony here. So, yeah, we’ll have to find somewhere else to do it.’

‘Obviously, we need to do better in some areas, and importantly the network is taking steps to address it. After all these years, I’m still incredibly proud to work at Seven among so many talented production people and journalists who are really passionate about what they do.’

Actress Asher Keddie reveals why she refuses to wear heels on the Logies red carpet

The Australian star is up for the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television – but she’ll be keeping things comfortable on the red carpet.

‘If you feel fabulous, you will generally look pretty good,’ Keddie, 49, told Stellar Magazine ahead of the awards show.

‘This year – and this is probably down to age as well, and having done it so many times – I don’t feel the pressure to look a certain way, or as what everybody else wants me to look like.’

Resisting that pressure includes ditching the heels, the Strife star explained.

‘I’m done with wearing very high heels all day. I don’t know how I did it for all those years on Offspring,’ she added.

‘That’s why I chose plenty of fabulous sneakers for playing Evelyn in Strife. It’s much easier.’

Inspired by writer Stephanie Wood’s own experience with a love scam artist Fake follows the character of Birdie Bell (Keddie) who is cruelly deceived by a man she met on a dating app.
