Three teens have been arrested after they allegedly stole a huge collection of weapons including crossbows and arrows, swords machetes and hunting knives from a Darwin shop.
The trio, one aged 16 and two aged 18 allegedly stole three cars in the Darwin suburbs of Yarrawonga and Cullen Bay in the Northern Territory.
They allegedly then used the vehicles in a ram raid at a shop on the Stuart Highway in the Darwin suburb of Berrimah.
They allegedly stole weapons including ten bows, five crossbows, 300 arrows and multiple machetes, swords and hunting knives.
In a CCTV image, a figure can be seen standing on a shop counter holding a weapon.
NT Police used spies to stop one of the cars in Adelaide River, and the others were found abandoned in Acacia Hills.
The two 18-year-olds were arrested.
The younger boy is in hospital after being stopped by the dog unit, NT Police said.
He’s expected to be charged later.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dale Motter-Barnard said the alleged thieves were caught within three hours of the report coming in.
“Ram raiding will not be tolerated and offenders will be swiftly apprehended,” Motter-Barnard said.
