Darcy Davey-Sutherland, 16, died after the accident, which saw two tinnies collide near the Grays Point boat ramp, at Swallow Rock, in Sutherlandshire on Friday morning.
Davey-Sutherland suffered critical injuries and was rushed to St George’s Hospital, where she later died.
Her father Davey-Sutherland, said his daughter, who had two older brothers, was “the beacon of light within our family” in both the UK and Australia.
“She was about to embark on the most special part of life as she stepped into adulthood,” Michael Davey-Sutherland said.
“Words cannot describe the pain we feel at the moment.”
The teen had been wearing a lifejacket at the time of the crash.
Davey-Sutherland was also fondly remembered by her family and friends online.
“I will miss you so much Darc, I feel like I’ve lost a part of me,” one said.
“Will forever love you. you will forever be missed my beautiful angel, I will never forget our time together,” another said.
“I pray for your family to find the strength to live with their forever broken heart, keeping your memory alive. Rest beautiful girl,” a third added.
Following the crash, two 16-year-old boys were also taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
