Teenager is killed in fireworks explosion at Kalkallo after Christmas Day celebration takes tragic turn

A teenager has been killed in a fireworks explosion after Christmas Day celebrations took a tragic turn in Melbourne’s north.

The 19-year-old was declared dead at the scene after he was found at a property on Pittsburgh Road and Cloverton Boulevard at Kalkallo at about 9.10pm on Wednesday.

Victoria Police have launched an investigation into the teenager’s death.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
